Biocybernaut Institute of Canada, Ltd. has created a board of experienced scientific advisors to oversee all of Biocybernaut’s scientific research in Canada. They assist in the design and development of research studies and participate in the review and analysis of the scientific research papers. DR. BETTY BASTIEN- CHAIR OF THE BOARD
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK, UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY
Dr. Betty Bastien is an associate professor in the school of Social Work at the University of Calgary. She is a member of the Piikani First Nation, one of the four Tribes of the Blackfoot Confederacy. She has worked for both the provincial and federal governments in the areas of social development and services for 10 years. She taught Native American studies at the University of Lethbridge and in the social work diploma program for Mount Royal College and Kainai studies at Red Crow Community College.
DR. WILLIAM PELECH
PROFESSOR, FACULTY OF SOCIAL WORK & DIRECTOR OF E-LEARNING & DISTANCE EDUCATION, UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY.
Dr. William Pelech is a professor in the Faculty of Social Work and lead co-principal investigator on the FASD Community of Practice Research. Dr. Pelech’s practice focus has primarily been in the area of rural and Aboriginal communities, as well as the development and leadership of the Virtual Learning Circle BSW Curriculum and program. Dr. Pelech has received research grants from Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Alberta Centre for Child, Family and Community Research (ACCFCR). Professional memberships include the Canada Northwest FASD Research Network Action Team (NAT).
